Is Podman 5.0 coming to CentOS Stream 9?

Post by sigulete » 2024/02/20 00:32:51

I'm looking for some new features that Podman 5.0 is bringing.
Anyone knows if it is going to be available in CentOS Stream 9?

Yes, probably CentOS Stream 9.5, according to https://github.com/containers/podman/discussions/22592

I am already using in on RHEL 9.4, after I found a build at https://kojihub.stream.centos.org/koji/ ... ldID=61248 and installed it with

Code: Select all

$ sudo dnf install https://kojihub.stream.centos.org/kojifiles/packages/podman/5.0.2/1.el9/x86_64/podman-5.0.2-1.el9.x86_64.rpm

Bit odd that the epoch is wrong on that so it shows up as a downgrade not an upgrade. Also means that any yum update will back that out if it's isn't excluded.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
